Ancient Egyptian Ring Bezel With 4 Cobras // 1750-1570 BC
Product Description
Ancient Egypt, Second Intermediate Period, c. 1750-1570 BC. Excellent steatite scaraboid amulet, with remains of the original ancient bronze ring shank still present! The amulet is domed on top, with a series of fine hatched lines around the edge, and the underside is finely engraved with four erect uraeii (cobras), in a cross-like shape around a central pellet. This once adorned an ancient Egyptian’s personal finger ring as evidenced by the remains of the original bronze pin still contained within, as well as the wear patterns on the top, as this side would have been worn facing toward the finger. L: 5/8” (15mm). Ex Southern California private collection.
