Product Description
Ornate Middle Eastern Flintlock Pistol, circa late 1700s. A gorgeous and ornate flintlock belt pistol with extensive wire inlay in its walnut stock. The pistol has a cast brass butt cap with high stirrups and cast floral embellishments and broad scrolls. Even the iron trigger guard is engraved. The barrel is decorated with chiseled decorations including Arabic inscriptions and geometric designs, which continue onto the octagonal flats behind the breech. The brass side plate is decorated with a scene of arms and armor.
In good condition for its age, with uncleaned surfaces, the bore is dark and the lock holds and sets to an extent but overall non operational. There are some areas of loose or missing wire inlay. The ramrod appears to be from the period but likely not original to this gun. The bore is dark and lock operates properly. Some wire inlay is loose with a few sections having been lost over the years. Loading rod is a late period replacement.
