Excellent Viking Axe Amulet, Viking Europe, c. 8th-12th century AD. A very nice and quite large bronze amulet in the form of a Viking battle axe! With wide, sharp blade and tapered neck and large, round mounting/ suspension loop. Great olive-green patina. Repaired from 2 pieces where the blade meets neck, likely ritually broken in antiquity. A perfect miniature of the dreaded weapon used by the feared Viking raiders!
