Product Description

A nice Huari polychrome jar from Peru, c. 650 - 800 AD, the body is round with a narrow neck and lightly flared mouth. Two handles flank the spout, one of which is in the form of the upper body of a human, head turned with arms outstretched. The vessel is decorated with geometric designs in orange and brown slip. Light surface weathering throughout.
