Product Description
An Anatolian marble head from a Kilia idol, Bronze Age II, c. 2800 - 2500 BC, of roughly triangular form, the head wide with pointed nose. Often referred to as 'Star Gazer' figure due to the head being angled slightly upward on the long neck. Originally it is thought some details were added in pigment. Light deposits. Figures such as these are found throughout the Near East and Eastern Mediterranean in similar, but varying forms.
