Chupicuaro, ancient Mexico, c. 400 - 100 BC. A lovely ceramic tripod bowl in the form of three breasts. This finely made vessel stands on three mammiform legs and has deep indentations in the tondo. The tan slip is highly burnished and shows good mineral deposits.
