An early American model 1842 US Aston & Company .54 caliber percussion pistol made in 1851. With brass trigger guard, grip tang, barrel band, hinged brass ram rod, and stamped hammer plate stating “Middleton CT manufactured in 1851.” Smooth-bore, with beautifully preserved 8.5” iron barrel. Action is crisp and near perfect, the metal is polished and extremely well preserved.
This is an antique, and not warranted safe to shoot without restoration and the aid of a skilled professional.
