Roman Egypt, c. 1st - 2nd century AD. A choice Roman-Egyptian terracotta head of a woman. She is depicted with an elaborately braided, ornament-studded coif and nice facial features. Well-detailed with good mineral deposits, light chipping to left cheek and underside of chin. Mounted on antique wood stand. Underside of base in very old ink reads "ROMAN TERRACOTTA - EGYPT SECOND CENTURY AD".
