A Corinthian trefoil oinochoe with lid, 6th Century BC, the shoulder decorated with a frieze containing lions and sphinxes, rosettes and swastikas in the field, geometric banding above and below. The single strap handle with a central Maeander pattern and the trefoil lid solid black with knob handle decorated with radiating lines from a central circle. The lid with light cleaning marks. A beautiful vessel!
