Medieval Armenia, time of the Crusades. Cilician Kingdom, King Hetoum (Hethum) I, 1226 - 1270 AD. This coin pendant is set into custom .925 silver bezel and 21.5" heavy gauge Italian silver chain. It has great detail and a nice dark coppery tone.
The coin depicts a potent cross with four stars, Armenian inscription: “Struck in the City of Sis” / King seated cross-legged on a throne adorned with lions, holding a globus cruciger and fleur-de-lis, Armenian inscription: “Hetoum King of the Armenians”. It's then pierced in antiquity to be worn nearly 800 years ago.
