Large British Percussion Pistol by Henry Elwell // c. 1810 - 1812
Product Description
Excellent and quite burly, this percussion pistol is by Henry Elwell, a noted firearms expert between 1810 - 1812. It's a classic East India Company era flintlock pistol, converted to percussion. Originally manufactured around 1715, the British Sea Service pistol remained in use until the end of the Napoleonic Wars in 1815. Of characteristic form with hardwood stock and brass furniture, the lock converted to percussion and marked HENRY ELWELL.
The hammer pulls back with strong force, but should be released with great care. This is an antique and not warranted to shoot without the aid of a skilled professional.
