Dark Ages Europe, c. 6th - 9th century AD. A marvelous and huge iron horse snaffle bit. Still fully articulated, this specimen measures 10.25” fully extended and is extremely well-preserved. It was recovered from an early Medieval site near the Danube River, Eastern Europe.
