Product Description
A beautiful Gandharan Stucco Head of Buddha originates from the Indus Valley, circa 4th-5th Century AD. This choice example is 3.5” high and portrays Buddha with elongated ears, pierced lobes and concave Urna. He is depicted with the classic serene expression and wavy hair gathered into a top knot. Remnants of red paint is still visible in some of the features. It is in excellent condition, with good mineral deposits and high-relief detail, and arrives mounted on a stand.
