English Percussion Pistol // Circa 1825-1845
Product Description
This heavy duty English Percussion Pistol, made circa 1825-1845, is an unserialized .68 caliber with a 9-inch barrel and unmarked lock. It has a smooth hardwood stock with brass fore-end cap, trigger-guard and butt. It also has a solid lanyard ring, and “captive” swivel ramrod. This piece is in good condition and is as it was originally configured, with a cap percussion mechanism converted from a prior flintlock, which was common practice in the 1825/1845 era. The finish is primarily a dark grey patina with areas of age, handling wear and surface rust, as well as scuffs, dings and bruising to the wood. It also has a few small cracks around the lock. The action functions, but should be cocked and released with care.
