This Egyptian Eye of Horus Bead originated in Greco-Roman Ancient Egypt, circa 2nd century BC - 1st century AD. The Eye of Horus was a mythological symbol, representing the falcon-god Horus' missing eye after battle with his brother Seth. When buried with a mummy, it symbolized a portal or an eye into the afterlife.
