The front depicts a diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Justinian facing right, with the inscription "DN IVSTINIANVS PP AVG". The back depicts a scene of Victory advancing right, head left, holding globus cruciger and wreath with a star to right, wit the inscription "VICTORIA AVGVSTORVM; CONOB".
