This Silver Coin Pendant originates in Ancient Rome, circa 54-68 AD. The coin was struck in 66 AD. The front of the coin bears Nero's laureate head facing right with the inscription"IMP NERO CAESAR AVG GERM". The back of the coin / Victory alighting left, holding a shield inscribed SPQR, S-C across fields. Set into a custom .925 silver bezel and 20-inch Italian silver chain. Total bezel diameter 35mm (1.375”).
Coppery-brown patina, nice portrait. ref: RIC 351; BMCRE 246; WCN 296; Cohen 298 for type.
Provenance: Ex Akkadian Ancients, Queensbury, NY.
