This large bronze Chinese Charm originated during the time of the Qing Dynasty, circa 1644-1912 AD. One side depicts the twelve animals of the Chinese Zodiac, while the other side depicts the eight trigrams. The Chinese zodiac is based on the lunar calendar that assigns an animal and its reputed attributes to each year in a repeating 12-year cycle.
