From the wreck of El Cazador, Spanish galleon sunk in 1784 off New Orleans. Fantastic silver 2-reale coin, mounted in modern silver bezel with shackle bail, 14K gold prongs. Bears the bust of Charles III, the reverse pillars believed to be what inspired the "$" dollar sign used today. Dated 1782. Nice coin with full details and light toning, with elegant custom mount with tall bail. With full color photo-certificate.
