Colima, ancient West Mexico, c. 100 BC - 250 AD. A nice Colima ceramic Coahuayana Valley type standing woman. A rare type, her features are well-modeled, and she is depicted wearing a skirt with incised details, a feathered head piece, arm bands and a necklace with central circular pendant. Intact and well-preserved with attractive red-slipped surface. Ex Southern California private collection acquired in the late 1960s & 1980s.
