Ancient Persia, Sasanian Kingdom. King Khusro II, 590 - 627 AD. Large silver dirhem, set into a custom .925 silver bezel and 18-inch Italian silver chain. The front depicts the crowned bust of Khusro facing right, Zoroastrian astrological symbols: stars and crescents around perimeter / The back depicts the Zoroastrian holy fire-altar flanked by two attendants, monograms/ zoroastrian astrological symbols around.
