Excellent British East India Company Flintlock Pistol
Product Description
An excellent flintlock conversion to percussion pistol made in Tower of London armory circa 1870. A classic East India Company era flintlock pistol, converted to percussion. Of characteristic form with hardwood stock and brass furniture, the lock converted to percussion and marked “TOWER” with royal crown “GB” proof marks. Well worn and used. Original “captive” ramrod still present! The lanyard loop at the base of the grip was intended so sailors could string two pistols on a sash around their necks and have a chance at firing 2 good shots upon swinging upon an enemy vessel. Overall length 11.75 inches. The action is a little sluggish but still snaps when the hammer is held back a bit. This is an antique and not warranted to shoot without the aid of a skilled professional. Ex Bangor, PA collection.weight:1.78 lbs
