Biblical "Poor Widow's Mite" coin. Bronze prutah, minted during the 1st Century BCE but circulated throughout Judaea during the time of Christ. The coin depicts a wheel with 8 ray-like spokes, Hebrew inscription ”Yehonatan the King" on one side, and a Seleucid anchor, with Greek "BASILEWS ALEXANDPOY" on the other. Referred-to in the Gospel of Luke 21:1-4. Coin diameter 15mm, with gorgeous detail and dark brassy tone. Encapsulated and graded Choice Fine by NGC.
