Chupicuaro Woman // West Mexico, 1000-500 BC
Product Description
Pre-Classic West Mexico, 1000-500 BCE. Fine Chupicuaro ceramic standing woman with slanted pinched eyes, nicely-detailed jewelry including large earspools, and elaborate hat. She is depicted with her hand to the back of her head which is a classic type probably representing fertility. Ochre surface with cinnabar and white painted details. A fine example of this type, with some nice paint remaining!
