Purple Jesus // Metallic
Product Description
Alex Grey's painting, Purple Jesus, was originally created as an album cover for the band, Purple Geezus, formed by New York performance artist, Mike Osterhout. Purple Geezus was the house band for the Church of the Little Green Man, a punk performance art church founded in the mid-80’s for which the Grey’s were Bishops.
Using the painting by Alex Grey, Purple Jesus blotter was made legendary by San Francisco–based art collector, printer and blotter art impresario, Mark McCloud. Purple Jesus acid became famous on Jerry Garcia’s historic final tour with the Grateful Dead, where throughout concert parking lots the question echoed, “Have you seen Jesus?"
