Is this not risky? What if we get stabbed a little? What are the ways to make this effectively safe?

With proper use, you'll never puncture the skin. The Aku Mat is intended for surface level stimulation and should be used with caution and care.

To target the Back: place the Mat on a soft surface, such as a bed or couch, and slowly lean back. Once in a comfortable position relax your entire body and focus on your breath. As time passes, you'll enter a deep state of relaxation and it'll become quite therapeutic. Start with a shirt on and then work up to bare skin.

To target the Feet: start with socks on and gently press into the spikes while sitting in a chair. Work your way to standing on the Mat as you feel comfortable.
