How do you clean the filter?

There is no filter to change since it's a filterless air purifier.

The Airfree does not require any maintenance.

How much electricity does does it use up?

Can you turn the light off completely?

Yes, you can turn off the light completely.

How does it “destroy” air pollutants?

Airfree applies the same concept as boiling water by using heat to destroy microorganisms and attains 100% efficiency at the Airfree air outlet.

1. Contaminated air enters into the Airfree unit by natural air convection
2. The microorganisms are eliminated inside at temperatures of close to 400 °F
3. The sterilized air is cooled before being returned to the environment
4. The purified air dissipated throughout the environment

What volume of air does it clean per minute/hour?

Kindly note that Airfree’s TSS technology does not rely on a high airflow as it is meant to be continuously on, 24 hours a day. The device, when placed in a new room, will need, in extreme cases, up to 3 weeks to reduce the room’s initial contamination level in 80%. Contamination will be kept low for as long as the Airfree unit is ON in the room.

Airfree’s effectiveness is directly linked to its correct use. The device should therefore be:
• always be ON in the same room, not under any obstacle that might interfere with the sterilized air up stream;
• away from open doors or windows;
• only placed in rooms that don’t exceed the purifier’s capacity.

The products’ airflow varies from 15 to 41 m3/h, depending on the model and the room’s temperature and humidity level.

Can the unit be placed on a chest of drawers or table top in a bedroom?

Yes, it can, however, for higher efficiency we recommend placing the unit on the floor.

What happens with the contaminants like dust and tiny debris, skin flakes etc. that this unit burns at 400 degrees? Where does the resulting carbon particle go?

The microorganisms go back into the room, but harmless.
