Will this device eliminate tobacco smoke/smells?Yes! This product is extremely effective against smoke smells. It is also very effective to protect you from wildfire smoke odors if you are in an affected area.
Are there filters to clean or replace?There is not a "filter", but the AHPCO cell inside needs to be replaced every 2 years. This cell produces catalytic molecules that are effective to reduce odors, allergens, bacteria, mold, viruses, and VOCs.
Is this as good as the air angel for allergens?Yes it is! The Air Oasis 1000 will cover a slightly larger space than the Air Angel and has the same technology, plus polar ionization (ions bind to pollutants like dust, dander, pollen and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) to safely remove allergens and odors from your indoor air).
How do I get replacement to clean it?The manufacturer, www.airoasis.com, as well as their dealer www.hypoair.com, have replacement AHPCO cells available.
Does this eliminate dust particles?Yes! When the polarized ions and catalytic molecules produced by the AO1000 encounter dust particles that float in the air, they become heavy and drop out of the air, thus becoming less of a hazard for breathing. Then the dust can be easily wiped away and removed.
How do you clean it? Since there are no filters?You can clean the outside of the unit using a dry towel on the base and a multi-surface spray suitable for aluminum, on the sides. The manual that comes with the product explains how to remove the cover for periodic cleaning inside the unit.
