From the beginning, all of Ackerman Family Vineyards' actions in the vineyard have been purposeful. They began sustainable farming in 2004, and by 2009 they'd earned their California Certified Organic Farm (CCOF) label – a designation no other Coombsville winery has obtained. To them, it’s a testament to patience, time and enthusiasm. Their wines—a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon with softer edges and lower alcohol levels—are contemporary expressions that reflect an evolving vineyard valley.

The 2006 Ackerman Cabernet Sauvignon features a deep, rich nose of sweet dark cherry, plum and dark boysenberry, complimented with hints of minerality and oak spice.

The 2007 Ackerman Cabernet Sauvignon is immediately impressive with deep, saturated color reminiscent of black cherry juice. The enticing aromas are of blackberry, sweet dark plum, cedar and balking spices. Exquisitely seductive with dark berry flavors, seamless integration of French oak and plush tannins.

The 2008 Ackerman Cabernet Sauvignon is more intense, more concentrated and longer-lived than any of the previous vintages. The electrifying nose hums with deep blackberry, Bing cherry, sweet plum and rich mocha/toasty oak. On the palate, the fruit intensity carries through with enormous depth and mouth filling tannins, which augur well for at least another 10 to 20 years of aging in the cellar.
