Abong
Sundial
Product Description
The easy-to-assemble Abong wooden equatorial sundial is a unique and natural method to tell time. The sundial is comprised of a rod that passes through the center of the dial plate, pointing both to the sky and the ground. The gnomon is perpendicular to the base, and casts a shadow that allows you easily identify the hour on the notches, which are exactly 15 degrees wide. In summer months, the shadow falls on the upper face, and during the winter it falls on the lower face. Assembly requires sandpaper, glue, and a razor saw. When finished, the sundial can be gracefully displayed in a garden, patio, cottage, or desk.
