Ammonite and Belemnite Round Spiral Dish
Product Description
This beautiful hand-carved ammonite and belemnite dish is from the Atlas Mountains in South Morocco. Ammonites and belemnites are extinct species of orthoceras, an ancient relative to the modern-day cephalopod -- otherwise known as squids or nautilus. Ammonites and belemnites fossilize over a limestone bed and have an estimated age of about 40 million years, hailing from the Devonian period. This ancient specimen turned modern home decor makes for the perfect gift to add aesthetic value and history to any home or office. As this is a natural item, appearance may vary from photo.

FAQ
The fossil plate is shaped (carved) by hand and machine to get it into that form. It does not appear in nature like this.
Is it food safe? If so, is it microwave /oven/ dishwasher safe? They may be food-safe but microwave and oven safe I would not try. They are 200 million years old. They are more decorative pieces.
