Product Description

This stunning Stirling Engine Car is a classic illustration of converting heat energy into mechanical work using a thermodynamic cycle similar to the well-known Carnot cycle. Powered by a built-in alcohol lamp, this dual piston steam engine acts as the motor for the car, resulting in a fun and fascinating toy for hobbyists, as well as a serious demonstration model for work or classrooms.

If you would like to run the car without it moving, you can put it on a little stand so the wheel just spins, or take off the connecting band between the top and bottom pulley. If you do have the car move across the floor closely supervise it since it will carry the flame with it.

FAQ
Can you here the combustion and "spit" of the compression?

There is no combustion but a moving of air. More of a tap-tap as it
squeezes air and lets it go.

Will the tea light also work and provide movement?

Yes, but barely in most circumstances, those candles also burn dirty when
the flame touches the glass.

How long does it burn for?

It can burn for five minutes safely. The longer you run it the less efficient it gets.
